Economist Paul Krugman said President Trump view of oil as a strategic prize is decades out of date, calling US claims about Venezuela oil reserves and plans to receive up to 50 million barrels oil fantasies. Krugman noted inflation-adjusted crude prices are far below past peaks and argued much of Venezuela oil is costly and difficult to produce.
