Since August, the sectional overspeeding system on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway has caught over 89,200 speeding violations. Fines are automatically issued for exceeding the 100 kmph speed limit, but compliance remains low, with only about 5,300 payments made. Police have filed 400 FIRs for reckless driving. Plans are underway to integrate the challan system with FASTag.
