Pelacarsen fails major trial despite sharply lowering Lp(a) levels

Pelacarsen, a promising heart drug designed to lower lipoprotein(a), has failed a major clinical trial. Although it dramatically reduced Lp(a) levels, it did not lower the risk of heart attacks, strokes or cardiovascular deaths.
