Indian Railways enforces strict luggage rules. Passengers must follow class-wise weight limits or risk fines. General class allows 35 kg, Sleeper and 3AC allow 40 kg, 2AC allows 50 kg, and 1AC allows 70 kg. From July 1, 2025, fares have also increased, up to 2 paise per km for AC classes and 1 paisa per km for non-AC trains.
