Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has sought a hike in the tax-free cap on employers' contribution to the National Pension Scheme (NPS) to 12% of basic salary and dearness allowance, if any, in the upcoming Budget. The tax-free cap is currently set at 10% for private sector employees while for government employees, the cap is already set at 14%.
