Pentagon spent ₹2,300 crore on crabs, steak, furniture months before Iran strike: Report

Thursday, 12 March, 2026 The US Department of Defense spent around $250 million (roughly ₹2,300 crore) on furniture, king crabs, lobster tails and ribeye steak in September 2025, according to the government spending watchdog Open The Books. The department's total spending was $93.4 billion in the month. The spending came months before the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran.
