Friday 21 March, 2025 PepsiCo has bought prebiotic soda brand poppi, which secured $400,000 investment from CAVU Ventures’ Rohan Oza on Shark Tank in 2018, for $1.95 billion. It marks PepsiCo’s first step into prebiotic soda industry. In 2024, poppi was sued over claims its drinks don’t contain enough prebiotic fibre to cause “meaningful gut health benefits”. poppi reached $8.9-million settlement in the case.
