Pet dog dies after fighting cobra to protect family

Leo, a German Shepherd from Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram, died after fighting a cobra for over half an hour to protect his family. Although he killed the snake and initially appeared fine, he later fell sick. A veterinary check-up found he had been bitten on the tongue. Despite three anti-venom shots, Leo could not be saved.
