US drugmaker Pfizer has withdrawn its application for emergency-use authorisation of its COVID-19 vaccine in India after a meeting with the drug regulator on Wednesday. The regulator had asked Pfizer to conduct an additional local trial on the vaccine's safety and immunogenicity for Indians. Pfizer said it will re-submit its approval request with additional information when it becomes available.
