The Philippines is planning to acquire India’s Akash‑1S surface‑to‑air missile system in a deal worth over $200 million, likely to be finalised in 2025. This would be India’s second major defence export to the Philippines, after the BrahMos cruise missile. The Akash‑1S, with a 30 km strike range and 360° coverage, is designed for multi‑target engagement.
