French app developer Voodoo has purchased social media app BeReal for €500 million (about ₹4,500 crore). Founded in 2020 by French developers Alexis Barreyat and Kévin Perreau, BeReal gives users two minutes daily to click and share pictures with friends. Barreyat will step down as BeReal CEO and will be replaced by Aymeric Roffé, CEO of Voodoo-owned app Wizz.
