Polar stratospheric clouds (PSCs) were spotted over the skies in Iceland recently. PSCs are clouds that form when water vapour enters the stratosphere and when temperatures are cold enough for water vapour to condense there. Notably, air temperatures plunged to a 40-year record low in the polar stratosphere for the month of December.
