PIL filed in Delhi HC against 'addictive' social media features
A public interest litigation has been filed in the Delhi High Court against addictive and engagement-maximising features, like autoplay and infinite scroll, on social media platforms. The plea also seeks damages from Meta, Google, X (formerly Twitter), and Snapchat for their addictive design and effects on children's mental health. "Such features are not incidental but deliberate," the plea said.
