Mexico City seeks to transform pillars supporting flyovers and elevated roads into vertical gardens to reduce pollution and improve the cityscape. Under the initiative, the concrete structures will be covered with 'garden walls' made up of metal frames and cloth. The walls, aiming to provide 40,000 metres of greenery, will feature different columns with automatic watering systems for every plant.
