Pilots' body seeks 25% random drug testing after Air India pilot fails dope test
Federation of Indian Pilots urged DGCA to introduce oral-fluid (saliva) screening for pilots alongside urine-based drug tests and raise mandatory annual coverage for random drug testing of pilots from 10% to 25%. Wider screening could strengthen deterrence, FIP said. This comes after a pilot of Air India Phuket-Delhi flight that suddenly dropped 300 feet in altitude tested positive for marijuana.
