Bengaluru-based Pixxel has secured a $476-million contract from NASA to provide hyperspectral Earth observation data as part of the commercial smallsat data acquisition program. This marks the first such deal for an Indian startup since the space sector opened to private firms in 2020. The contract runs through 2028, enhancing NASA's Earth science research and applications.
