Renowned artist Rasheed Ahmed Quadri said he's been trying to get the Padma Shri award for the last 10 years. Quadri claimed applying for the award cost him about ₹12,000 every year. He said he lost hope of winning the award after BJP government was elected because BJP doesn't give anything to Muslims but PM Narendra Modi proved him wrong.
