PMPML has doubled its ticket inspectors by promoting 175 drivers to monitor contractor-run buses, prompted by concerns over fare evasion. The move follows the addition of 400 new buses under a private contract, where conductors are supplied by the contractor. Deepa Mudhol-Munde, PMPML chairman stated that the work of conductors on contractor-operated buses will be "strictly monitored."
