Political activists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan were reportedly protesting against a proposed bill that will allow Chinese firms to conduct mineral mining operations in the region. The bill is yet to be passed in the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly in the upcoming days. At least five activists were arrested by Pakistani authorities for protesting against the move.
