Pokémon Go creator Niantic announced the acquisition of Mayhem, a San Francisco-based startup focused on online gaming communities. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by Niantic. The "majority" of Mayhem's team will be joining Niantic. Its CEO Ivan Zhou will join Niantic's Social Platform Product team, while the rest of the team will join Platform Engineering.
