Poland on Friday reported a record 36,665 daily COVID-19 cases due to a surge of the Omicron variant, Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska said. Poland has one of the world's highest COVID-19 death rates and a lower vaccination rate than the EU average. Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said the country could see over 40,000 daily cases on Saturday.
