Kolkata Police has suspended the officer-in-charge of Kalighat police station, Goutam Das, after he posted his picture with a firearm on social media, writing, "Ready for new assignment." Das was suspended following TMC's complaint to the Election Commission alleging that the picture was "disturbing" and "objectionable". Notably, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's residence is in the Kalighat area.
