Police to fine driverless cars in California for traffic violations

California authorities adopted new regulations allowing police to issue a notice to robotaxis' manufacturers over noncompliance with traffic rules, such as running a red light or failing to stop for pedestrians. The regulation is first-of-its-kind in the world since driverless cars enjoyed immunity from traffic tickets. It mandates manufacturers to react to first responder calls within 30 seconds.
