Pope Leo condemned violence in name of religion at event with Christian leaders from across Middle East, urging them to overcome centuries of heated divisions. He said, "Today, whole of humanity, afflicted by violence and conflict, is crying out for reconciliation." He added, "We must strongly reject use of religion for justifying war, violence, any form of fundamentalism or fanaticism."
