Powai Lake overflows after heavy showers lash Mumbai

Mumbai’s Powai Lake began overflowing around 5.30 am amid heavy showers, even as the city’s overall water stock remains low at 7.18 per cent. According to BMC data, reservoir levels across Mumbai’s seven lakes are still below normal. Despite local overflow, the water situation continues to remain a concern due to uneven monsoon distribution.
