Powerful 7.0 earthquake strikes Indonesia: USGS

An earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck the Indonesian province of Papua, about 250 kilometres west of provincial capital Jayapura at 6.41am on Tuesday (2141 GMT Monday), said the US Geological Survey (USGS). No tsunami warning has been issued. The USGS said there's "a low likelihood of casualties and damage". The Earthquake-Report monitoring website said the threat of landslides "is real".
