Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has won his first-ever election, ending BJP's 31-year winning streak in Bihar's Bankipur Assembly constituency. He defeated BJP leader Neeraj Kumar Sinha by 19,324 votes in the bypoll, which was necessitated after BJP president Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha in March. RJD's candidate Rekha Gupta, who came third, received 14,273 votes.
