Allahabad High Court ruled that pregnancy can't be a ground to deny public employment to a woman. It observed that compelling a woman to choose between motherhood and employment violates both her reproductive rights and right to livelihood. The ruling came in response to UPSSSC's refusal to defer a woman's Physical Efficiency Test for Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard recruitment.
