Pregnant woman delivers baby in auto amid traffic in Maharashtra

A 30-year-old pregnant woman delivered her baby inside an autorickshaw after a traffic jam delayed her journey to Ulhasnagar's Central Hospital. Harikala Thapa's vehicle remained stuck for around 20 minutes between Seva Sadan and Mayur Hotel. Doctors examined the mother and newborn after they reached the hospital. Maharashtra recorded around 40,000 ambulance births between 2014 and 2024.
