The Allahabad High Court said that private hospitals have started "treating patients as guinea pigs/ATM machines only to extort money" from them. The remarks come as the court dismissed a doctor's plea against criminal proceedings over the death of a foetus. Justice Prashant Kumar noted that nowadays it's common for hospitals to lure patients despite lacking proper doctors or infrastructure.
