Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala filed a fraud and defamation complaint against the makers of 'Ramji Rao Speaking', the original film on which 'Hera Pheri' is based. He alleged that despite selling him the rights in 2000, they resold them in 2022. He further said he received a legal notice in December 2024 declaring his film 'Phir Hera Pheri' illegal.
