Several pro-Kannada groups including Karnataka Rakshana Vedike held protest in Bengaluru on Thursday demanding immediate implementation of BBMP's order regarding Kannada nameplates. The protestors wearing red and yellow scarves vandalised hotels and tore English signboards. On December 25, BBMP ordered commercial stores in Bengaluru to install 60% Kannada language nameplates by February 28.
