Ex-Finance Secretary SC Garg said government is unlikely to make commitments on bank privatisation in Budget 2023. "The finance minister mentioned in Budget 2021 that we'll privatise two public sector banks (PSBs). That's not happening because that required amendment in banking nationalisation act," Garg said. "I don't see any possibility of [amendment] being brought in [next] one year," he added.
