The Karnataka High Court has said that the regularisation of an unauthorised occupation of a land, even in favour of a person belonging to the SC/ST, would not make it a ‘granted land’ as defined under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prohibition of Transfer of Certain Lands) Act known as PTCL Act.
