Pujara records most runs by an Indian in a Test season

Cheteshwar Pujara has recorded most runs by an Indian in one Test season, going past Gautam Gambhir's 1,269 runs in 2008-09, during the Dharamsala Test against Australia on Sunday. Pujara is now second on the overall list, going past former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden, and only behind ex-Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting, who leads the list with 1,483 runs in 2005-06.
