Ahead of Diwali, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is enforcing a total ban on the sale of firecrackers by illegal stalls on footpaths, roads and congested areas. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Madhav Jagtap said the move is in line with the Supreme Court's directions. In 2018, the state government asked PMC to take steps in accordance with the Supreme Court's directions.
