Maharashtra's Pune division is facing a water crisis with 65 tankers currently deployed, the highest in the state. Satara district has the most tankers deployed (40), due to low groundwater levels and poor rainfall last monsoon. An official said that the situation is better than last year due to improved rainfall and the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
