The Pune forest department is facing a financial crisis, which is disrupting routine operations. They have urged the PMC to renew a joint management agreement for urban forest sites, estimating a need of ₹1 crore/site for maintenance. An official said, "Without immediate financial and administrative backing from PMC, all the gains made over the last few years could be undone."
