The Pune-based Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a canopy severance system (CSS), an escape path clearance system for the pilot in case of emergencies. The ceremony to transfer the technology of the CSS was held in Pune. The CSS project is for LCA Tejas and its trainer. It provides safe passage by severing the canopy.
