The National Green Tribunal's (NGT) Pune bench has imposed a ₹34 lakh fine on Maan Gram Panchayat for dumping garbage illegally and environmental damage. It also told the gram panchayat to remove the garbage within a year. This comes after a petition was filed to restrain the gram panchayat from dumping waste in areas owned by the forest department.
