The Punjab government on Sunday extended winter holidays in all government, private and government-aided schools till January 8 in view of the intense cold wave conditions in the state. State School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said all schools in the state will now reopen on January 9, instead of January 2 as announced earlier.
