Punjab farmer earns ₹12 lakh a year from dragon fruit farm

A farmer from Thulewal village in Punjab's Barnala district has emerged as a successful example of crop diversification by replacing conventional farming with dragon fruit cultivation. The 39-year-old Satnam Singh Aulakh grows the high-value fruit on four acres, earning around ₹12 lakh annually while significantly reducing water consumption compared to paddy cultivation.
