Farmers in Punjab were the biggest beneficiaries of minimum support price (MSP) transfers this Rabi season after the Centre procured a record-breaking 43.3 million tonnes of wheat for a total of ₹84,369 crore. A farmer in Punjab, on average, received ₹2.95 lakh for their crop, as compared to ₹2.2 lakh in Haryana and ₹93,000 in Uttar Pradesh.
