Punjab passes resolution against CEC Gyanesh Kumar, seeks probe amid SIR row

The Punjab Assembly passed a resolution against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar amid allegations of irregularities in the ongoing SIR process. The Punjab government also sought a probe into the large-scale deletion of voters' names from electoral rolls. Notably, the Opposition has been repeatedly demanding the CEC's resignation and has called for a rally on November 1.
