In the run-up to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections, the power tariff for 2026-27 has been reduced by 50 paise to ₹1.50 per unit for all categories of consumers in the state. Elections in the state are due in a few months. The overall relief to the power consumers is ₹7,851.91 crore.
