Former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi on Thursday said Russia's President Vladimir Putin "was pushed by the Russian people, by his party, [and] by his ministers" into invading Ukraine. Russia's original plan was to install "a government of decent people" in Ukraine and leave, Berlusconi added. Following criticism for his remarks, Berlusconi on Friday said that his views had been "oversimplified".
