PWD constructed a road without removing a handpump that now stands in the middle of the road in UP's Mirzapur district, sparking safety concerns. Since the road leads to the Vindhyachal temple, lakhs of devotees are expected to use it during Navratri. The contractor did not remove the handpump in order to cut costs, said locals.
