Queen Elizabeth II has awarded UK's National Health Service (NHS) the George Cross, the highest civilian gallantry award, as the health service marked its 73rd anniversary on July 5. Queen thanked the NHS workers for their dedicated service for over seven decades, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. "You've our enduring thanks and heartfelt appreciation," Queen wrote in a handwritten letter.
