Actor-director R Parthiban issued an apology following major backlash for making a caste-based remark at a promotional event for 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'. Parthiban, who called himself "a Naidu boy", later said, "If anything I said has hurt or wounded anyone, I offer my heartfelt apology." He was accused of contradicting the anti-caste stance he previously associated himself with.
