Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa became the first Indian to win Grand Chess Tour after defeating Fabiano Caruana 15-13 in the 2026 Finals in St Louis. Praggnanandhaa trailed 3-9 after the classical games but won both rapid encounters to move 11-9 ahead. He then held his advantage through the blitz section and pocketed $200,000 (nearly ₹2 crore) for the historic triumph.
